I ran into some problems. I installed gentoo in /dev/hda2 /boot /dev/hda3 swap /dev/hda4 / . I could not get it to boot. Windows would boot fine, but grub would complain that the bios didn't support booting from that sector. So I tried lilo and it did the same thing. I had slackware installed before and it would boot with lilo so I don't know what was wrong. I looked all over the place and tried a few things but it was a no go.
So I installed debian(net install) with just a basic system and grub. I thought it would be able to boot gentoo, *wrong* complained about the same thing, now I,m getting worried. O.K. install lilo I know it can boot them, *wrong again* debian boots fine but grub complained about gentoo and the bios not supporting booting from past a certain point. Now I,m really worried.
So to make a long story short after almost 2 days I go ahead and install gentoo by its self, for sure will boot with grub, *wrong* grub won't even install. Now I,m really, really worried. I install lilo and it boots fine.
I'm in the process of installing xorg + fluxbox etc. I will keep you posted.
In the links at the top I will include all important config files and lsmod lspci etc.
